Sir Winston at her side, keeping up quite easily, the red haired girl walked through the streets in her usual crop-top and shorts as though she were dancing. She was barefoot, par the usual, it really was a rather momentous miracle that she didn't have hookworms or some other parasite. Although it was probable, she was a bit lanky. "What do you think Sir Winston?" |
"Do you think Uncle Winberg will find what he is looking for here?" Sir Winston let out a bark in response, returning his gaze to the surroundings. This wasn't a place to be carefree and inattentive. However, though she seemed completely blissful, Adelita was no fool. She giggled at her partner's response, nodding and humming an agreement before returning her gaze to the path ahead. "Aha, me too! I think so too! But gosh, it sure is boring here!" She folded her hands behind her head and pouted, she really was bored out of her wits. The reason why she left her computer behind in the first place. Of course, the man to whom she was referring was not truly her real uncle, but a man who was part of the same rebel group as her -- her 'family' -- who had taken her in after her parent's died. She referred to him as uncle because that's how she felt about him, that he was her uncle. Since he would never be her father.
Even if she hadn't known the man for very long.
Adelita felt the curious stares on her, stares of people who though she was completely and utterly out of her mind. She spoke without caring who heard her, walked through the streets as though there was no threat to her. Adelita wasn't a fighter, her high metabolism and rationed diet made her thin and her occupation made her frail. At best she was flexible, and fast. Difficult to catch but if caught easily broken. The government wouldn't bother her, she didn't exist to them. But here, that didn't matter. And despite her cheerful, childish humming, she was actually very much on edge. The sound of thunder broke her focus for a moment, and she paused, blinking up in the direction of the sky. She could practically sense the moisture change in the air, practically smell the rain. "Uh-oh." She mumbled. As a techy person, rain wasn't something she particularly liked. As if the rain would give her a short circuit just like her computers.
"What a pain." She groaned quietly, flinching when a drop fell on her nose. "C'mon Sir Winston! Hurry!" She said before she took off running, trying to shield her head with her arms but of course unsuccessful. The wet pavement was beginning to hurt her feet more, made it slippery and easier to cut herself on the cobblestone and dirt. Sir Winston was running at her side, barely able to keep up on his stubby legs, but he was determined to stay right by Adelita's side in an environment as dangerous as this. Though they both regretted this adventure now, they were both drenched. She noticed the flashing sign of what seemed to be an inn or a bar of some kind, she didn't care, maybe it was a combination. She slid on the ground when she tried to stop, scrapping the bottom of her feet pretty badly, blood mixing with the rain water and mud.
She was panting, and wasted no time rushing in, shaking her head violently to try and shake the water out. Sir Winston was next to her doing the same thing, and she jumped away from him a bit when he wet her leg with the water. "Careful Sir Winston! You're getting me all wet!" Well, wetter technically, not that that mattered much anyway. Adelita noticed that some people were staring at her as though she startled them, and also took note that it was a combination of an inn and a bar. People sat at tables and at the bar, and there were some stairs in the corner that she assumed led to the rooms. Adelita blinked some water from her eyes, rubbing the back of her fist against her cheek. Not that it helped, but still. She didn't recognize anyone here, no one from her group was here. She was lost, and stuck. There was no way she was going back outside. Adelita sighed and walked over to an unpopulated table, picking up Sir Winston and sitting him on a chair before sitting down herself, kicking her feet under her. Now she was really bored. Not to mention in deep, deep trouble when Winberg finished his business here and went looking for her....
