A few gray clouds hung overhead, blotting out the sun. A small sigh escaped his mouth before turning his attention to the teen with him. Her bright eyes shined back at him as he smiled gently. "Sammy, are you awake in there?" Naoto glanced upwards as if in thought for a moment. "Yeah, of course. Why would you say that?" The thoughtful teen in jeans and a black vest simply swayed back and forth. "You kind of always get like that when we're over here. Do you want to...go back?" Naoto shook his head simply. To be honest, the slums weren't his ideal place for an adventure, especially in his uniform. Crystal was intent that she knew about a new cache of abandoned government experiments, chemicals, and technology. Regardless of the validity of the tip, Naoto would take Crystal's word and hunch. He didn't know why, but there was some special bond the two had ever since the day that they had met. The tip in fact came off the streets from a few total strangers who sympathized with the rebels. The blonde rebel clicked his tongue a few times as his green eyes glanced up to the sky. A few shimmering lights in the sky brightly gleamed back at Naoto. "Sammy! Or maybe I should call you Samantha." The teenage girl deviously grinned. This caught Naoto's attention despite drifting off and day dreaming. Perhaps it should have been called night dreaming given the time. "You know I hate that. You've even got a few of the rebels thinking my name is Samantha." A gloved hand flicked Crystal's forehead. The teen girl flinched for a moment, leaping back. "Oi, Sam. You know that scares me!" Naoto smirked slightly as Crystal began to kick a few stray pebbles at him in frustration. The two stared at each other for what seemed like hours. Then, laughter. In a few moments time, the two were back to trotting down the disheveled sidewalk. Small slabs of concrete lay amiss from sections while cracks and weeds littered each step. It wasn't exactly the prettiest walkway when compared to those within the heavily government funded areas. As he walked along, Naoto was starting to believe that any district that came to this much disrepair would soon be christened as a 'District'. Night also wasn't the greatest time to be simply strolling around in a so called 'District' or soon to be 'District'. Naoto's sword was well hiddien underneath his coat. Its silver hilt glistened in the flickering street lights every so often. Each crunching footstep the two made created an air of uncertainty. They needed a place to stay for the moment. Perhaps that rebel hideout was still taking people in. Crystal knew about them all, that was why she was part of the resistance. Unsuspecting and a good actor at that to. Crystal had a mental map of every city somehow just by studying them for a few hours. Trailing on with the younger teen, Naoto soon caught view of a dumpster with some graffiti on it. Crystal tilted her head in its direction and nodded. That must have been it. The girl slowly walked up to it and tapped on the dumpster four times. A fifth tap was heard back before a hidden slit opened up from the dumpster's body. Naoto could barely make out the face behind the slit, however the two murmured words back and forth. "Yeah, he's fine with me. A dead silence settled in for a moment. "Oh yeah, how do I know that? What's your status then?" Naoto rolled his eyes and scoffed at it. If they couldn't believe he was working for them by now, it was a total waste of time to get involved with this whole group mentality thing. "It's Starfall of course." The man behind the dumpster wall grunted and tapped a few audible buttons before the wall slid open to reveal a hidden passage way. Crystal motioned for Naoto to follow which he did. Foorsteps echoed down the thin and grimy stone corridor to a dimly lit subway station. It had been abandoned for quite some time, however the rebels had outfit it with makeshift lights, computers, offices, and hell even beds. The man wondered how many subways had been converted like this. "Well, here ya are. Don't go causing trouble now." The man pointed a finger at both of them before returning to his post up the stairs and hall. Green eyes continued to survey his surroundings. "We're staying here tonight until the morning. I'm not risking you out there at night, even with rebels around here. A moan escaped Crystal's mouth in a bit of a pout, but she nodded in agreement. "You're such a kill joy sometimes Sammy. But yeah, I know that's how you are."[/style][STYLE=width: 400px; text-align: center; font-size: 9px; color: #565656; text-transform: uppercase; margin-top: 0px; font-family: arial; letter-spacing: 3px; opacity: 0.9;]made by kiwii at btn & ote![/style] |
